OLAS GUARDIAN FIRMWARE UPDATE 2.1

Helm Tag Feature Integration

Helm Tag Mode: Specifically designed for sub 35ft motor vessels using OLAS as a wireless engine cut off system. 1 OLAS tag can be calibrated as a Helm tag. When the tag goes out of your chosen range the engine will cut out. This unique capability means the tag can be setup to stop the engine if you fall in the vessel or extended to only cut out when you leave the proximity of the vessel. The Helm tag can leave and return to the vessel without setting off a continuous overboard alarm. This significantly enhances the user’s ability to disconnect and reconnect seamlessly. Helm tag should ONLY be used when OLAS is being used as a wireless engine cut off system. For more information on how to setup Helm tag see the video below. Standby mode integration

Standby mode allows you to keep your OLAS system running in the background, waiting silently for you to connect your OLAS transmitter. The OLAS system will remain in Standby throughout power cycles. When the system is in Standby mode the hub will NOT give the ‘no tag’ connected warning when it is powered up. Standby mode can ONLY be activated if tags are not being tracked. Standby mode will be automatically deactivated when an OLAS transmitter is brought into range.

The latest Guardian update includes several important features that will make the general functionality easier and allow increased scalability.

OLAS Smart Lock integration

OLAS Smart Lock is a new anti-theft system which can be used to lock the outboard engine’s stop system, preventing unauthorised use.

Integration of the new OLAS T2

Rechargeable OLAS tag with vibration and LED feedback.

Scaling the OLAS system up
Up to 25 OLAS transmitters can now be tracked, enhancing crew safety on larger vessels.

Connection to new EXTENDER firmware
The new Extender firmware allows faster and easier setup of the Extender system. 2 x Extenders can now be seamlessly connected, providing coverage for vessels up to 100 ft.

OLAS transmitter connection management
New OLAS transmitters can be tracked at any time either by bringing them next to the Core or by using the OLAS app.

Customisable Detection time
Adjusting the Detection Time allows a period where an OLAS transmitter can reconnect silently, preventing any alert from occurring. This may be preferable on larger vessels with increased chance of signal being blocked.

Customisable Alert Delay time
During the Alert Delay period an alert will sound to indicate signal has been lost, but the MOB alarm will not be activated. During this period if the transmitter signal is found the alarm will automatically cancel or if the control switch is pressed the MOB alarm is paused for 30 seconds allowing the OLAS transmitter to be brought back into range.

Skipper and passenger tag allocation
When a tag is allocated as a skipper (engine cut off) or passenger (alert only) the Guardian will remember the allocation for future use.
